I have an outstanding fee of $7,800 for UCR’s Winter quarter. I don’t have money to pay that much out of pocket. Any scholarships or grants I can do to come up with the money by January 15th?? I have a loan that is offered for $2,500 for the quarter. Any advice on loans and taking out more loans? I would rather not have to take one out but the timing is not the best. I will do what it takes. I need some advice on what to do overall.
For scholarships you may know of: I am an incoming transfer student Winter 2021 at UCR majoring in Chicano Studies with either a minor or double major in Education. I have no current GPA at UCR yet but ended this fall semester at my CC with a 3.89 GPA.
Get in touch with UCR as soon as they open. Prepare what you’ll say (ie., lost job in family, covid effect, etc.)
Do take the loan.
Have you filled out financial aid applications for state and federal grants?
No scholarships would pay out that fast. Sounds like you are scrambling to pay for your first semester at UCR. What is the plan for future semesters?
Agree that you are expecting a really fast turn around time.
Didn’t your Calgrant transfer over?
Contact the Financial aid office by phone.
