So I hope to apply to University of Georgia next fall and at this point all I'm concerned about is money and affording it. I'm originally from Georgia but moved to CT. Anyway, all my family is there and I was thinking about using my Grandma's address to pay less but How do I go about doing that? Or what I was going to do is if I get accepted for my first semester pay out of state tuition then second semester change things up...... If that's possible let me know please

If you are living with your parents and they take you as a deduction on their taxes, you are out of state. Living with you grandmother does not change that. She would have to have legal guardianship of you. Once you are 21, you are independant in terms of financial stuff.

Like the poster above me mentioned, when you file for FAFSA or some kind of scholarship, UGA will most likely see your parent’s taxes as being from Connecticut. Also, since you have high school transcripts from Connecticut, that is another indication to admissions that you are OOS.
What you can do is try to regain status as a resident of GA. Most states will state that you are a resident if you spend 12 months living in a certain state. HOWEVER, some states do have one caveat: that you spend 12 months living in a certain state doing something other than being a full-time student. So you would have to be working or something else for in-state classification.

Yes, but that is only once she turns 21, OR if she is considered on her own. As long as her parents claim her as a dependent, and she is insured through them, they do not go by where she is, but her parents.
