Does Johns Hopkins want the "money in your pocket" essay to start off with "I would love to being my day of no commitments..." or in a creative manner?
Are they looking at the content of what you did during the day or how you wrote the essay?
Is the essay supposed to be what would you do or could it be what have you done on a day of no commitments?

Any interpretation is fine, as long as the essay itself shows a deep, personal quality of yours that the Admissions officers believe would fit in at Johns Hopkins.

Content is only the 1st layer, and there should be a deeper message shown in the essay. How you write the essay? I'm not sure what you mean by that, but you can "write" it in any way possible -- including making a videotape/artbook/whatever you want.

Remember, these are PERSONAL essays. Put yourself in the shoes of the person who will evaluate your essay -- what do you think they are looking for, and how will that help them better evaluate your total application.
