<p>I just had a few questions about campus jobs.</p>
<p>1) I've heard that lifeguard positions pay well. Does anyone have specific numbers?</p>
<p>2) I'm a bio major and am willing to work as a grunt in a lab. Can first semester freshmen get these sorts of jobs (as in washing beakers, etc) or is it still too early to do this? How much does this sort of job pay?</p>

<p>I was a lifeguard at Cornell…in 2007, they bumped the starting wage to $9.50 an hour with an increase for each year of service. Not sure what it is now. You also had paid training sessions each semester.</p>
<p>Lab grunt work is very easy to come by.</p>
<p>Also, look at working in the cornell athletics facilities or at the library. Depending on where you work, it can just be homework time. If the physics library is still open, then that’s a cushy job because no one ever goes in there and you can just do your homework while working.</p>
<p>Be sure to bring your passport (if U.S. citizen) or documents showing right to work in the U.S. They are strict about this.</p>
<p>You will probably need a blank check to set up direct deposit.I think they’ve had some problems lost or missing paychecks.</p>
