monitor issues

okay, so i'm pretty good with computers and such, but i have a question.

is it possible for me to use my laptop screen as the monitor for my desktop cpu?

my laptop has the correct port and such, and i have the cable that matches.

is there a certain setting or something that i need to change or is this whole thing even possible?

thanks!

I don't have the answer, but I think it would be interesting to know why you're doing this.

:)

mostly for curiosity... but it's kinda bugging me trying to figure it out.

anyone know?

Are you sure you have the correct connections? I know that both a computer and laptop uses VGA or DVI, but they are the same side (I think they are both male)...so you would only be able to plug one side in.

well, i assume it's the correct connections... everything fits. when i plug the cable into the laptop, the laptop screen flickers, but then goes back to normal, if that helps.

bump

??????

anyone?????????
