Can current students tell me about the food at Davis? Excellent/Good/Bad/I’d rather starve to death?

Also about dorms: Which of the freshmen dorms are the most sociable and fun? Which ones are the most beautiful?

And does it really smell like cows?

I was so excited to be accepted by Davis, and I’m getting even more excited reading about the school. I don’t know if I’ll attend there in the fall, though it seems very likely!

The DC food is OK, you won't starve to death. By the end of the year though a lot of people get sick of eating the food there and end up downgrading thier meal plan.

Only the Tercero Dorms smell like cow because they are so close to the little dairy farm area. You don't really notice it all the time, just some of the time - like early in the morning or late at night when it's cold. I lived in Tercero and it was fine.

A good point about Davis is there are lots of inexpensive cafes near campus.....Chinese, sushi, pizza, coffeehouses, ice cream, burgers, etc. So once you leave the dorms, there is plenty to choose from.

Is there any sort of off campus meal plan?

The introduced some sort of "off campus" meal plan this past year. I didn't sign up for it so I don't know how it works exactly. It basically sounded like a food debit card that could be used at some of the restaunts downtown. It didn't sound necessary since I can manage my money just fine & rarely eat downtown.
