WOW- your stats are incredible jenz 129- are you applying to Wash U Regular or Early? Have you visited the campus?

I'm applying Regular. And nope, I've never visited campus. St. Louis is way too far for a college trip. My parents would never drive out there or pay for a plane ticket to Wash U.

I'm applying, but my stats definitely are NOT as impressive as yours!

HAHA Jenz, we got the same sat scores!! exactly!! That's so weird! And where did you go for CTY your four years? I went summer of 01 and 02, the first year was creative writing at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster PA and the second was etymologies at Dickinson college in Carlisle PA.

GPA: unweighted 94, weighted is around a 98?

Volunteered at the hospital near where I live for 80 hours this summer, had a blast too!

Teacher recommendations I'm going to assume were good...not brilliant, but good.

My essays are definitely good, I spent a lot of time on those, had a lot of people read em and make comments.

what else...? Other than running/swimming awards and the pretty standard academic awards, there's not much else. Oh, summer camps I did CTY as mentioned above and I did a french immersion program...I dunno.

edit: oh yeah, I'm applying regular to Wash U...I visited campus, had an interview, told em they were my first choice.

Whhoooaaa, where in NY do you live? I went to baby CTY for 2 years, then real CTY. Summer 01 both sessions @ JHU and Summer 02 Session 1 at Lancaster. I guess we don't have any overlaps there.

I'm in Poughkeepsie NY; I'll PM you to talk more; I don't want to be spamming this place with our own conversation, lol. I'm a moderator on a bunch of other online forums, I'd feel bad breaking my own rules!

Applying ED II, USP in Medicine, and Moog Scholarship

Dang College5812, nice times there for track...You talked to the Wash U coach though and he said you had a good chance of getting recruited? Do you think I'd have a chance getting recruited with a 51.xx in the 400? I contacted the coach by e-mail, and he signed me up for their mailing list for track, but he's only e-mailed me back personally once and it seemed like a "fill in the blank with the applicants name" type of generic track e-mail...

Heh, I'd looove to get recruited, that'd be awesome!

Yeah probably- I am not too familiar with the shorter distance events at Wash U., but I know that they need middle to long distance runners (so it is probably the same case for shorter distances). Good luck- and I think you have a great shot at the Moog-at least you would get it before me. My sat scores are way to low for any hope of a scholarship. Good luck with applications

janice

i love how many moog applicants are chinese! it's so stereotypically ironic

I feel discouraged to apply to this scholarship now... so many stellar scores!

sweetdreams87- as far as we know, there is only one chinese applicant and one other asian. Just because that other asian applicant is asian doesn't mean he/she is chinese. Hehe, don't forget the other asian races! As for me, i'm korean. :)

yah, no, i mean asian. :)
