I guess I'll research it some...

Anyone else have something to say?

I found out that it's in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

It's also the nation's sixth oldest college.

The average SAT for incoming freshman is 1133 (570 Math, 563 Verbal).

i don't think i'm really interested in moravian anymore.

i actually never was.

i am just trying to get people interested in these lesser-known but still very good colleges.

moravian actually isn't very good. sorry. :(

i just went to philly to visit penn, and moravian is so not close to philly. at all. :o

Drove by it last week. Anyone want to give me info?-just curious. It is only about an hr from Philly- in Ca 1 hr is very close.

Just saw this post. I live very close to Moravian and know a recent graduate. It has a local reputation as a good solid LAC school for B students. Sometimes overshadowed by near-by Lehigh and Muhlenberg University's. That is, you don't hear of as much about drunken students, frats and soroties. Students at Moravian can take classes at Muhlenberg, Lehigh, Lafayette and DeSales. Lots of traditions, nice looking campuses in the trendy part of Bethlehem. Lehigh is across the river and adjoins the more seedy part of town. I've really not heard anything negative about it.

I go to Moravian and enjoy it a lot.

moravians really a nice school. if you're looking for a more personal experience (it's pretty small) it's great and it also is in a really cute town. i'd recommend it =]

I went to Moravian and I agree with the two above. Moravian is a really nice campus and I think gets overlooked by Lehigh and Muhlenberg. For the right student who likes a smaller more intimate environment but still wants a social campus, Moravian is a great choice. I think they also do a good job of helping those students that need a little push come out of their shell and realize their true potential. I am very happy that I went there.

Our D is looking at Moravian. Do any students or students' parents have any thoughts on 1. safety issues on/off campus 2. academic rigor/or lack there of 3. whether there is a fun social life 4. how are the dorms and dining. Thanks

I visited Moravian and one of my best friends attends there. I think it is in a pretty safe area of Bethlehem. The town it is in is pretty nice. Although it is often overlooked, it's academics are pretty solid. Everyone I met there on my visit was intelligent and really loved what they were studying. I think there is a social life, but it is what you make of it. At a school like Moravian you probably have to make more of an effort to find things to do but there is usually something going on. They have bus trips to the local malls, movie theaters, NYC, philly, etc. Dorms at least the freshman one I saw is your average freshman dorm. Pretty small but most freshman dorms are. The food was also decent when we ate there and my friend says there is one station where a chef makes something different every night which is usually pretty good. Hope I helped...

i applied there, am going to look at it next month. I would like to know MORE about the social life, anything about the nursing program, admissions, and do they give scholarships?

I am glad to read such good things about Moravian. D#3 is interested at looking at Moravian & we hope to visit before the snow becomes an issue. We will probably be there in a blizzard or something, but that's OK!

sorry if you get stuck looking in the snow, but i have been to moravian about ten times and it is pretties when there is snow on the campus.. ha, good luck with everything!
