I lived in both Hartley and Wallach. The coed bathroom thing is annoying for both guys and girls. Guys don't want to see 50 bottles of whatever girly products there are on the countertop and don't want to wait forever while girls hog the showers/sinks/etc. Girls don't want to deal with guys who don't put the seat down, pee (or worse) in the shower, etc.

Thanks guys. I guess Furnald is the best match for me.
I hope I get lucky in the lottery!

You'll get a questionnaire that asks whether you are messy or neat, noisy or quiet.

My son lived in Carman last year, and this year is in McBain ( contuation of Carman scene, social mostly sophomore dorm) and tells me he always studies in his room. Carman suites have two doors -- one to the hall you share with your suitemates, the other to the outer hall. So, you are more insulated from corridor noise. Also, you would only be sharing your bathroom with your suitemates, and the university cleans it.

i think im gonig for carmen.....who's with me??!!!!!!

for me, its either carman or furnald
btw, for the housing application, is anyone actually requesting someone as his or her roomate, or is that just something for ppl who want to dorm with friends from hs that also got accepted?

yea im definately applyin for carman as well

Carmen for me too.

I'm thinking Carman, also. Although it seems nice to have a single, I think it's better to have the complete college experience with a roommate. Plus, you have three automatic friends. The clincher is the bathroom: four people to one bathroom!

Me too. But I hear us SEAS kids don't get seen by the CC cuz we're so busy.... i don't know guys, we have taken on more than we can chew. lol

Is there a different college experience if you want a single?

eek yapsuper, that makes me nervous!

I don't know if the college experience is different, but my older friends tell me to get a double and avoid getting a single for social reasons.

Katie, yeah it makes me nervous too, but unfortunately I've heard the same thing from two completely different sources. One a current student, and the second an alumni that happens to my civics teacher. O well, Its columbia right? And we want to be Engineers right? So go us!
