<p>As far as I know, UNC doesn’t really make a big deal in admissions about your intended major. At least in-state, I have not seen anybody denied because too many people applied with their major. It’s not like NC State where everybody applies to a separate college within the university. However, if this is a consideration, Econ would be a more competitive major. There are many more of those than math majors. But it doesn’t really matter too much until you get to orientation, because they use your intended major to split you into groups.</p>
<p>Makes zero difference, unless you’re admitted and they look back and see that you selected bschool or jschool and that they could offer you auto acceptance to get you to attend.</p>
