More Credits =/= Harder Classes?

I don't understand why some people say that the more credits you take, the more work you're going to have and the more stressful the semester will be. I have 3 credit classes that are a ton harder than my 4 credit classes.

Does anyone else feel that the number of credits for the class isn't really a reflection of how much work the class has?

It really does depend on the class scheduling and the instructor.

My FWS has given me more work than my math, comp sci, and chemistry classes. Maybe I just don’t like writing essays. But I’d say it’s easier to succeed in than the others. I’ve gotten As on all my essays while I’ve bombed a few quizzes in the engineering courses.

when I think of the most challenging classes I’ve taken at Cornell, the majority of them are actually 3 credit (science) classes.

I will say that if you take 12 credits, you’re probably going to have an easier semester than if you’d taken 20 credits. then again, credits don’t tell the whole story about the demands on one’s time!
