More difficult to get into the business school than arts & sciences?

my question is exactly what my topic states.

i understand certain colleges at bc are more difficult to get into and some easier (ie… i heard nursing is easier than arts & sciences) how does business compare to arts & sciences? easier or harder to get into?

ok well I am assuming that you are considering BC for next year? Well, I just got into the business school and I don't have great SAT scores. So, I am not sure about how tough it is to get into, but with 28,000 apps this year for a freshman class of 2,250 I would say that in general it is going to be tough. You really need to have a great app. I had really good grades/rank/gpa/essays/reccs. Hope this helps a liitle. Probably more people apply to arts & sciences and it is the biggest.

what were ur sat's? just curious...

Statistically, the business school accepts the lowest number of applicants each year (I believe 24%, compared to 29% for the university as a whole for the class of 2010). The school newspaper, The Heights, ran an article on this issue last semester. The admissions office seems to imply that each undergraduate division is equally competitive, however, the numbers do speak for themselves. That being said, if you are at all interested in business, I would HIGHLY recommend you apply to CSOM (the Carroll School of Management). Once you are accepted to BC, it is internally easy to transfer FROM business TO arts and sciences, but actually surprisingly difficult to transfer FROM arts and sciences TO business (3.6 minimum GPA, plus a complete application). Good luck and feel free to message me if you have any specific questions (I'm a current BC student)

my stats were
1260/1910
3.85uw 5.9192
3/550 rank
VP of 2 clubs
senator of sga
3 letters of recc (1 from princ.)
2 alum letters of recc.

so even though i had lower sat's i think the other stuff made up for it.
good luck

it wasnt 24%, it was like just under 28%, which is still below average for the school. It was in an article from The Heights in the fall.
