Other than this site, we have been searching the web for accurate "inside" information from current BS students (to help get a handle on the best choice for our S). Some alumni post very helpful comments on what the schools are like once you're there (best dorms, food, pros/cons, etc) on Boarding School Review - College-Prep & Jr. Boarding Schools Thanks for any feedback.

Be cautious about what you read on Boarding School Review. While the feedback may help you get an idea of the school, the website is rather new and charged schools to participate. Not all schools are willing to pay the money. Also, BSR relies on the school's to provide the information included. It has been noted numerous times on CC that the statistics given on BSR are not necessarily accurate and/or up-to-date, particularly the acceptance percentile and average SSAT scores.

The reviews posted on BSR were solicited by the schools themselves, not volunteered randomly -- and most likely were at the very least proofread by the schools, if not edited. You are hearing exactly what the school wants you to hear -- which can be helpful when determining if a school has the same philosophy as you and your student do.

While BSR can be a good starting point, follow it up by asking question here on CC and contacting the school directly.

think of bsr as a prep version of wikipedia ;)

as my teacher would say "this piece of evidence shows bias and inaccurate facts."

but the general sense of the school is there, and I'm pretty sure most of the data is at least relatively correct so you can get an idea of how the curriculum is like.

than again I'm a BSR junkie and all I look at are the reviews from 2006 who graduated from Stanford/Harvard/Princeton/Brown/etc
