More requested financial information- does this indicate that my application is still active?

Hello, this year I applied to Cornell ED and got deferred to RD. Since my deferral, I submitted two letters of continued interest(that included a lot of activities and current online courses), had a meeting with an alum(not an interview but someone I was able to connect with through family and mentioned this meeting in my letters), and had a meeting with the associate director of admissions about my application for the school I’m applying into. My semester grades also went in, and I received all A’s with a 4.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale. My essays and letters were quite strong, and I truly feel confident that I have done all I can do regarding my application. Additionally, my school counselor said my essays were among the best she has seen in 13 years of counseling. However, my school is not notorious for sending students to selective schools, and only one person since the year 2000 has gotten in to Cornell(no data available from before then). My school is an average public school, though I really have used all of my resources and did all I could in high school. Today, I received an email from the financial aid office about submitting an additional document to the financial aid office. I haven’t seen these documents needed before, and I am calling at opening Monday to clear up the issue. Could this be an indicator of acceptance since they are still pursuing my application? I read some places that many schools create packages for all students, is this known or also true for Cornell?

Also, if possible, has anyone known someone who had a meeting with the associate director of admissions at Cornell and were they accepted? Thank you very much!

No. FA and Admissions are separate. The email simply means they need more FA info - nothing else.

That could be a good sign.
FA and Admission Office work separately in the beginning, but they have to work together when the decision comes out. What is the name of document they requested? I cross my finger !

Thank you! They asked for Federal tax Schedule 1(not indicating student or parent so I am calling to ask) and for Federal Verification Worksheet.

Financial aid has ZERO to do with admissions. I talked to a financial aid person on Friday and she said she has absolutely nothing to do with admissions. She said that the only thing they communicate to admissions is really just who to be sending financial aid info to, and the date that they will be done making all the financial aid packages. In fact, they are somewhat the ones who are deciding when enrollment deposit is due because they are really behind on financial aid stuff and they can’t make people deposit without having their packages
