More SAT2s necessary?

<p>I plan to apply to the following schools for engineering (mechanical):
University of Michigan--Ann arbor
University of Illinois--Urbana Champaign
Penn State University
Northwestern University
Purdue University</p>

<p>If I take the ACT(and do very well), should I submit SAT subject tests even if they are not required?</p>

<p>If so:
I have taken Math 1 and Chem and scored 710 and 640 respectively, should I submit those, or do I need to take others?</p>

<p>If you do very well on the ACT w writing and the school doesn’t require SATIIs, I wouldn’t send the scores. If SAT IIs are required, consider retaking them.</p>

<p>what if it’s not required but <em>optional</em>? would optional imply that they could be used to boost other credentials but are not necessary if yours are good enough?</p>
