more schools

im reapplying to st georges, and thought i would look into some other schools. but i have no clue where to begin. anyone have any suggestions of boarding schools you think i would like???

Tell us what you like. Then we could help you more. :)

yeah, why st. george's??? What r u looking for in a school?

I think she sails.

How do you know? STALKER!!:)
Hey aren't u like only 12 or something?

frenchvanilla, one reason to like St. George's is because it is a very good school. Additionally, it is a beautiful campus, and I think she does sail.

I've never even heard of St. George's, maybe because i've never looked into Catholic schools.

frenchvanilla, it's an Episcopal school.

yeah, well i didn't consider those either. I don't want to go to a school with religious affiliation for personal reasons altohugh I am a Christian. By the way your comment was mean, it hurt my feelings, like how am i supposed to know the differance (ur probably going to say I should research eh?)

Many, many schools have a religious affiliation or history although they accept a wide range of religious backgrounds and have diverse student bodies

Don't discount a school or limits your choices because of its religious roots - many are religion "light" now

i know... the reason's pretty personal, how did u reply in like 2 seconds? are you as bored as me?

worse - avoiding work I should be doing

Although many bs's are affiliated with a religion, it never get's in the way of anyone's own beliefs. It's a shame, you maybe missing some very good schools. Good Luck!

well i competitivly sail and play soccer. im looking at other schools with top sailing programs. i love st georges because of the location, campus, academics and the overall atmosphere. i dont mind the religious affiliation, and i am episcopalian anyway. they meet in the chapel two times a week and every sunday students have to go to some sort of religious service, not needing to be at the school.

sounds good, what happened last time? why do you think they said no?

sorry Prepparent, I sounded mad, i wasn't. Maybe i'll think about them.

well first my ssat scores were nothing i was expecting. also, thinking back on it, in my interview i wasnt pitching me at st georges as much as i was pitching me and a boarding school. stupid me in 8th grade :)

what do you mean by pitching me and a boarding school? That's a bad thing? How many schools did you apply to? If you applied to like 5 how could you possibly bet really focused on one. Did u do better on this SSAT? what was your first score, di u like not study for it?

U realise u started this topic like an hour ago and it has 2 pages already? You've set a record!! Lol.

I think my d has narrowed her schools down to St. George's, Middlesex, and Emma Willard. She plans on adding one to three more schools among the following: Thacher, Cate, Blair, Miss Porter's, Pomfret, Deerfield, and St. Paul's. I hesitate to do this because she may end up changing big time.

frenchvanilla, you seem agitated today. No she is not my d, not knowing a schools affiliation is no big deal. That's why we are on these threads, to learn from each other. Again, I wish you well in your upcoming pursuit of boarding school. By the way, I have two d's, one is attending Middlesex (boarding school), and the other is in 8th grade. She attends a Episopal day School, however, we are not Episcopalian.
