my current situation is by no means bad i just dont like it. i go to one of the best public highschools in ct. i just dont like it

do you like want to go to boarding school to get away from parents or something- as well as the education?

no i love my mother...my father passed away 8 years ago this november. i just want the better education, more challenging classes, competitive sailing, and basically the boarding school experience

Prepchick - Really, you should look at Tabor again. I'm here now and I love it. Sailing is awesome and the students are great. It's an awesome school and it's really nice waking up, looking out your window and being right on the bay. Sunsets and gorgeous (I know there's more to school than scenery) but Tabor offers it all. I can also say that when I visited it for my interview, I hated it! They were late for my tour and the interview was horrible. I never imagined picking it, even once I was accepted. It wasn't until I revisited (mostly out of curiousity) that I was convinced it was for me. Give it another look and if you're still not impressed, I will never mention it again. I'm not kidding though when I say I love TABOR!

Congratulations on finding a school you love! It must be great seeing the bay when you wake up.

Thanks Burb Parent. I hope I enjoy the view as much once the snow begins! I am very happy and although I'm still adjusting to balancing all that is to be accomplished in a day, I'm doing pretty good. My top subjects (math & science) are now the subjects I find challenging (maybe because they are honors classes for me now) and the subjects I disliked before (history and foreign language) are a breeze! I'm just enjoying experiencing new things (clubs, sports like squash, SOCIALIZING, and making new friends all the time). The upper classmen treat us great and I was kind of worried about that. Anyway - thanks again!

Chopper, I remember last year when you were applying. I'm so glad to hear you love Tabor Academy. It verifies what I have always believed, there are so many good schools out there besides the usual suspects on CC. I wish you well

Thanks prepparent. It is a good feeling to know I chose right. So many people recommended so many schools and I'm glad I went with my gut. Revisits are so important and there are a lot of awesome schools I looked at that aren't the most popular choices here. Hopefully I can be an advocate for some of those great schools by just posting my journey and how I came to choose Tabor. Thanks again prepparent and good luck to all who are searching for their "right" school!
