More than one student applying to the same school - disadvantage?

I'm applying to Johns Hokins BME early decision, and I know at least 2 other people at my school who are doing the same thing. Does this give me a disadvantage? In a program as highly selective as BME at Johns Hopkins, do they try to "limit" the amount of students that come from the same area, in an effort to promote diversity or something? :</p>

In my school, no one applied early but at least 7 of us applied regular decision and of those 7 that I know, 5 got in.

I read a book written by a ex-Dartmouth admission officer. He wrote down some misconceptions regarding admissions.
-ED people do not get less money when they apply for aid
-Just because a school has 10 people applying to a school, doesn’t mean not all 10 people can get in.
basically it won’t give you a disadvantage just because 2 other people are doing the same thing.

so i say go for it. i mean r you gonna seize your application for RD just because two others are applying? they are probably just as worried. it won’t hurt to do ED because if u get deferred, but weren’t terribly unqualified, you will be re-evaluated for RD anyway. it’s better to be evaluated twice than once don’t u think?
