Hii guys,
I've recently checked out more books for practicing the ACT.
Originally I only had the Princeton and the Real ACT book. However, I found that these aren't enough for me. So I went and grabbed the Barron's, ARCO, and Kaplan books for the ACT.
I'm probably going to use them because supposedly it wouldn't hurt to get more "practice". But I was wondering, do you think studying any of these books will actually lower my score? I just need them for the tests. Some people talk about books and say they suck only because they didn't actually have a strategy for them to utilize. But, could these books really obscure my view on what the real ACT is?
Just checking before I start on them. And if any of you have any other comments about using more books then the princeton and real ACT book, please feel free to add.

uhmm anybody please?

Practice won't lower your score. That's crazy.. In my experience, Barron's books have not been too helpful explaining concepts, etc. But they do give very hard questions compared to the real test, or at least they do so for the SAT II practices. It's Great practice though, and you'll be ready for many of the harder questions that come up
Maybe you can try going through Barron's first, then try a practice test from one of your other two. Either way, you have less than a week to go. Better get started if you want to get through all 3 of those

hehe. I'm taking the next two days off. So yes, I will indeed finish them. Or at least mots of them o.o;; .

The Kaplan book was the first one I studied from, and I really liked its "workouts" but the practice tests were way different from the actual ACT. Consistently, on their reading tests, I would score between 24-26, but on the actual test I got a 35 on reading.

For me, so far, "The Real ACT" has had the best practice tests (kind of makes sense) but doesn't provide much lesson-type practice. Kaplan's workouts did help though! It breaks stuff down and lets you practice what you need to work on.

Oh wooow... i'm all out of tests... And I need to practice reading section somemore. I just erased all of my answers from the "Real ACT" prep book and I think I'm going to go through those again. I wonder if it'll help me =/ .
