more than three?

I November I took SAT IIs in Spanish with Listening, Math II, and Literature. I was happy with my Lit and Spanish scores but didn't do as well as I had hoped on the Math II test, so I decided to take the US History test on the Dec. 3rd date. Will colleges that take 3 SAT IIs only look at my top three scores, or will they look at all of them?
I apologize in advance if this question has already been addressed!

they'll look at all the ones u send

thx, this also clarifies my doubts.

theyll only consider the best

would it look better on the college application if someone took more than 3 satll (like 4or6) with solid scores compare to some one with solid 3 satll scores? would the college view this person(who took more than 3 ) as someone who challenged themselves more like with the AP's. will the admission officers favor them?
Also, does selective colleges view the satll language test equally challenging subject as compared to maybe physics?

bump!!

someone must know.

I'm interested in this topic too so I'll bump it for you. Also, if say, I took two SATIIs and got solid scores on them, but needed 3 for certain colleges, so I took French and got a less than stellar score, what would colleges think if instead of retaking French, I just took Lit and got a much better score?

this question too has been haunting me....but I honestly think that they consider all the scores you send them. Actually, they see them all, but then the q is how would they use them to evaluate you as an applicant. but after reading a williams admission article [they mentioned a guy with 5 good sat2 scores], the colleges definitely take extra SAT2s into consideration. they will see them [i hope/think] as a good indication of a broad knowledge. i think it definitely helps. although there are some colleges that explicitly state that they only consider the best 2/3 scores regardless. that baffles me though, but they always see the all the scores they receive, anyway. and, it never hurts to go the extra mile....i mean, if one can take 7 tests and can do well, why not? :)

J mom, i think your comments are true. and i definitely think the language tests are more challenging anyday...

chillaxin, i think you should def. take LIt if you know you'll get a much better score! but you could take both [french/lit] if chances are high that you'd get a greater french score:) hoping till monday!

they will look at your top 3. Thats what counts.

I think that very selective colleges consider all SAT scores, because our counseling department is advising every student applying to ivies to have at least 4 sat IIs. (By the way, we had 2 yale, 1 princeton, 1 harvard, 2 upenn, 1 duke so far this year in our (international) school)(only 70-100 students apply to overseas every year, and only ~15 students apply to very selective colleges.) The strategy seems to work. The competition is so maddening that every little factor can change your possibility of acceptance. Having a variety of SAT IIs with very good scores is probably one of these factors.

technically, they are only going to look at your top 3 scores. Does that mean that they are not going to even consider your other scores? No. If you have 5 excellent scores, of course that will look better than 3 excellent scores. If you have taken 7 SAT IIs and you only have 3 good scores however, that might hurt you.

Von Neumann

where is this international school you are attending?
Does the counsels suggest the students to take more than 3 satll to just look good on application or maybe they just want the students to have chance to select 3 best test scores ?
Did they say that having 4 or more excellent satll is better on application than 3 excellent scores when viewed by the admission officers?
If this is really true, my goodness everyone will be taking so many of them like with APs

I am attending the Koc School in Turkey. The counsels suggest it just to look good on application, I think, because these people get 770+ from all 4 of them anyway. When I told them that I would get at least four 800 and 2 780+, they told me that it would look very good. However, they say that it is not very necessary to take literature and world history if you write in the application that you will be in the science track.
