To anyone who has applied for the Morehead at UNC-- regardless of whether or not you got the scholarship, what advice would you give to future applicants? If you did not get it, how do you think you could have strengthened your candidacy?

Also, what are your SAT scores? I got a 2300 overall, and get SAT II scores tomorrow. Are SATs a big deal with the Morehead?

Dear eggrolls,

The best advice for the Morehead-Cain process is to find the things you’re truly interested in—whether it’s at school or within your community—and show some leadership on those issues.

If you look at the short biographies of recent winners ([Announcing the Morehead-Cain Class of 2015 The Morehead-Cain Scholars Program UNC Chapel Hill](http://moreheadcain.org/news/archive/class_of_2015/)), you’ll see there’s no specific pattern to what sets an applicant apart. The range of activities and interests is extremely broad.

More than anything, it’s a matter of what motivates you to get involved. Devote your time and energy to things you truly care about, and you’ll be in good shape!
