Morewood E-Tower or Mudge?

I'm an ED admit who's trying to pick a freshman dorm and I'm struggling to choose between: Mudge prime quad, Mudge prime double, and Morewood E-Tower standard double. From what I've read, these are the main pro's and con's of each choice:

Mudge (quad or double)
+ Strong sense of community among people who live there
+ Large dorms (especially the quads)
+ Private bathrooms
- Warmer than Morewood (according to one person I spoke to)
- Doesn't have lounges or laundry on each floor
- Cockroaches

Morewood E-Tower
+ You can go to the Underground cafe without leaving the building
+ In-house computer cluster and printer
+ Laundry room and lounges on every floor
+ Closest to the UC
+ Large rooms
- No private bathrooms
- Noisy at night due to its proximity to Forbes Avenue

Here are my questions: (A) How warm is Mudge for most of the year? I'd prefer a dorm which doesn't go above 75 degrees F. (B) How useful are the conveniences that come with living in the E-Tower (cluster, printer, Underground)? Does it really make difference to have them? (C) Where are the laundry services located in Mudge? How close are they to the quads?

If I missed any big pro's and con's, please let me know.

In addition to FateGoneAwry16’s questions, I had some questions regarding types of rooms.

What is the difference between and are there some rooms where freshman can not get?:
Prime Double
Prime Quad
Prime Single
Standard Double
Standard Triple

Also, @FateGoneAwry16,

Aren’t you doing SHS?
If so, shouldn’t Stever be your first choice since SHS recommends cluster living.

I was invited to SHS, but I’m not planning to do it.

I lived in Morewood (but not E tower) for a little bit in the summer. I don’t really consider Underground a huge perk, it’s just standard Americana that isn’t that exciting unless you’re really hungry or something.

Clusters are nice, but it got kinda gross after a while because people would congregate there bc it was one of the few places with AC. I spent a lot more time in the CFA clusters, as the equipment was a little nicer and they had tablets. I printed once or twice in Morewood, but I think it’s only B+W. I wouldn’t know how the clusters are during the school year, but I don’t consider them a decision making perk.

I lived in I think C tower and I had to go to the basement or some other floor for laundry. It was a little bit annoying to have to go down every 40ish minutes to move laundry to the dryer/pick it up, but not a huge deal.

I didn’t find it noisy at night/early morning, and my windows were always open. Not sure if it was because it was summer. Noise usually came from the students (some idiots were yelling across the courtyard from their rooms, could sometimes hear the adjacent room from the bathroom)

As for cockroaches, I have no idea if it’s an epidemic in Mudge but I ran into a few large cockroach-looking things during my stay.

I had classes in CFA, which is kinda towards the back of the school and on top of a hill, and sometimes I would forget things. Going all the way back to Morewood was a pain, especially in the heat, but the distance is fine if you plan on getting a bike.

Not sure if it matters, but there’s a small gym on the not E tower side and I think a piano room.

I’d go for Mudge because of private bathrooms, unless cockroaches are really common.

I lived in a Mudge prime quad. So worth it. Slightly cheaper; having a private bathroom is wonderful; you have a crazy amount of space. I was in A tower (second floor) and it was slightly warm the first few and last few weeks of the year—I’d recommend bringing a few electric fans.

The lounge thing isn’t a huge issue; you end up hanging out inside people’s rooms, which works out well since the rooms are quite large. Laundry isn’t a huge hassle (I think between faraway laundry & private bathroom versus nearby laundry & shared bathroom, I’d choose the former).

Note that Mudge has a printer, although it tends to break down.

I will say: having a cluster can be pretty convenient, which is a good point for E-tower. The Underground isn’t really an advantage; the food is ridiculously unhealthy and you’ll probably get sick of it pretty quickly.

Does prime quad mean 4 people living in one big room?

^ Yes. The room is really big though. I decided to go for a prime quad in Mudge myself.
