Morrill Scholars Applicants Class of 2024

Does the Morill Scholarship notification come through email or regular mail?

@jodicheatle I first got the notification through my personal email and then a month later I got a letter in the regular mail.

Pretty sure this has been answered before, however I am going to ask anyways. Does anyone know how many scholarships they give out? How many Morrill scholars there are total? How many prominence or excellence awards they give out
?

@WassupBrina They give out approximately 300 scholarships. And I believe that about 25 of those are distinction level scholarships. So about 275 prominence/excellence scholarships.

I got accepted two weeks ago how and when will I hear about Morrill?

February 12, 2020 OSU hosted a gathering for the Morrill Scholarship Program Distinction Scholars. https://odi.osu.edu/morrill-scholarship-program-distinction-scholars-recognized

@cowboylover49 You’ll hear back from Morrill by the end of March.

It appears that the students that attended the recognition meeting on Feb. 12, 2020 are currently students at OSU that received the Morrill Scholarship. At least, that’s what I gathered after reading the article. I could be wrong.

Yeah, someone else in this thread said that their daughter was awarded distinction on March 5th there was still the possibility of people getting it after that date.

If I haven’t gotten an email about it yet, should I assume I won’t be receiving it?

@atorres919

You’ll be receiving an email in both cases of rejection or acceptance into the program.

Speaking of the email, will we have to wait til the 31st of March? Do they release decisions on Fridays and Saturdays? Does anyone know what time they’d send out emails? 4, 5, 6 PM?

Still nothing from Morrill
 nearing end of March.

It’s nearing the end of March and I feel like they won’t send out anymore scholarships. I noticed they send out scholarships every other Friday at 3:58-4:00. Does anyone know if they’ll be sending anymore out, or will they be sending rejection letters from now on?

I thought they would be sending out final rejections/acceptances today because it is the last Friday in March. I wonder if things are a little off due to COVID-19 complications.

That’s what I was wondering. I hope not since we’ve all been anxiously waiting for so long. I at least just want some news on it. If they think announcements will be delayed because of covid-19, I hope they send an email to everyone about it.

On Tuesday (24th) I called the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and asked when the last wave of decisions was going to be released. They said that they are hoping to release by the end of this week and if not, then definitely by this coming Tuesday since that’s the last day of March. It has been a bit hectic there because the campus is pretty much closed due to corona but there is still a wave of decisions coming out so I would just wait because they send an email even if you have been rejected. Make sure to check your email since some past students have said that their email ended up in their junk folder.

From what I’ve heard, I don’t think there has been any kind of delay for the decision release.

Thanks! I was planning on contacting them next week if I hadn’t received any info yet. I guess I’ll just keep checking my inbox and junk folder throughout the weekend and the beginning of next week. :smile:

so there should be an email sent regarding Morrill by Tuesday?

@cowboylover49

They said by the end of the week :frowning: . Hopefully maybe today? Do they do Morrill decisions on Saturdays
?
