@tsyni101, I will have my D pm you. She doesn’t remember much so the upcoming SKYPE will be good for all of us to hear the same things.

I got my call the same day as everyone else too! It sounds like everyone had pretty similar experiences with it! I can’t wait to meet everyone!

Hey, if anyone on here got the distinction, please pm me too :)

My son received an email this afternoon with the offer of Morrill Excellence that covers in-state tuition. He had earlier received Maximus but that cannot be combined with Excellence. OSU is his dream school. So my son is thrilled, as are we.

Received an email today about the excellence scholarship.

My son received an e-mail yesterday indicating that he would not be receiving the scholarship :(

My D’s friend just received the Morrill Excellence Award so they are still offering those. We still haven’t heard either way on the Distinction scholarship. Think that ship done sailed-- now we are focused on housing contracts :D

I got an email on friday saying that received the excellence award I am totally psyched about getting full tuition, but I was just wandering what things I will be required to do as a Morrill excellence scholar (events, extra courses, meetings, etc)? I know that the distinction scholars have some responsibilities to keep their scholarship, but do excellence scholars also have responsibilities?

I received a prominence award…which I find surprising since my essay was pretty silly if I’ll say so myself (about the cultural conflict presented with having a foreign name)

My DD received the Excellence Award! We are thrilled.
Also wondering like SoccerGirl, what are the duties and responsibilities with this program.
The email did indicate there are also other benefits beyond the scholarship, grad school info, travel abroad etc.
My DD is absolutely thrilled, she is so happy, honored and excited to attend OSU.

Hey guys! Has anyone else not gotten an e-mail at all??? I have not gotten an e-mail indicating whether I did or did not get the Scholarship. And when I e-mailed the Morrill Scholarship office they told me that letters will be sent out at the end of this week. I seriously cannot wait that long (I live in California) …and I feel like I mind as well assume I did not get the scholarship. Anyways has anyone else run into this problem?? Oh and congratz to all those who made it!!! :D

We have a friend who’s son received the excellence award last year (this is how we knew about the scholarship!) and they said he goes to talks and attends cultural fairs maybe quarterly but I think there are opportunities to attend more frequently if you are interested/able. The distinction award has more requirements I think but D didn’t receive it (yet?) so do not know much about that.

Do Morrill Scholars have to stay in the Morrill Towers?

My daughter is a Morrill Scholar and is not staying in the Towers.

Also at your orientation there is a special meeting of the Morrill Scholars and they inform the students of the benefits and responsibilities… also there is a mixer at the beginning of school for the MS.

Hey! if you attended an interview for the Distinction Scholarship, would you mind if you share your experience during the interview ? Thank you!
I haven’t been notified to schedule a interview yet but I have been told I’m being considered for it and will be notified tmm.
My daughter is currently a freshman at OSU and she receives the Morrill Excellence.
There do not appear to be many duties or responsibilities, just an occasional meeting.
There are perks, such as those mentioned above, and free tutoring, etc.
Excellence scholars do not have the Distinction responsibilities.
At Freshman orientation there will be a meeting of the ODI scholars and they
will be given information about the program.
Congratulations to all recipients!
Congratulations to all you guys.
