Morrill Scholars Program 2015

@Jay2631‌ Congratulations! Glad to see that you heard back.

In the email it said that you were going to be considered for the Distinction scholarship? I know it’s far fetched, but I hope they just tell out of state students that they are moving on for right now lol. #StillHoldingOnToHope!

Again, congratulations!

Thank you! And Congrats @petlover1022‌ !

On my email it also said:

“Furthermore, based on your academic excellence and advocacy for diversity, your application will be considered for the Morrill Scholars’ premier award, the Distinction Scholarship. This scholarship is the value of the full-cost of attendance. If you are recommended for an on campus interview, which will take place March 6-7, 2015, you will be notified by January 30, 2015. To accept the Prominence Scholarship, please submit your Ohio State acceptance fee to Undergraduate Admissions by Thursday, May 1, 2015.”

Did you guys receive the Maximus award before you were awarded the Prominence? Or were you just offered the Prominence.

I just recieved the Prominence and my grades weren’t high enough for the Maximus. 29 ACT

Ok. Congrats!! It doesn’t get better than a full scholarship

Thank you once again! Also I wish you the best of luck for either the Prominence or the Excellence

I have a question : Since I recieved the Prominence Scholarship, I am now part of ODI Scholars. Today I recieved an email stating that I have been accepted to the Scholars program. Can I be both a ODI Scholar as well as a different Scholar?

Is qualifying for Promincence, Maximus, or Trustees a prerequisite for getting Morrill?

Also did anyone else notice they’re sending out notifications a day before is listed on the website…

@Texas2Ohio‌ The Prominence is part of Morrill and yes I have noticed and they also did that last year when I was reading older threads. I hope you recieve your notification soon. Good luck

Whoops I meant the scholarships that undergrad admissions give out (I just switched the names around). Because I qualify for nat’l buckeye, but not any other merit scholarships from undergrad admissions. So I’m curious if those are a prerequisite for Any morril scholarship.

I just submitted a morrill scholarship essay. Are my chances of getting a scholarship from the morrill scholars program impacted?

I do not think it’s a prerequisite for Morrill Scholarship. The only thing required is that you write the essay.

@Texas2Ohio… Our stats are very similar. I’m curious, any other schools your looking at?

Yeah, UT Austin is my #1 in state school! I would love to go to OSU but don’t thjnk it’s possible now that I’m convinced I won’t be getting this Morrill scholarship!

So everyone who has gotten it in this round, did you get your e-mails yesterday or today? My OSU e-mail wasn’t set up until 1 AM “today”, so I’m afraid that if I got it yesterday I won’t know if I got an e-mail.

UT Austin is also my #1, but I have yet to get accepted. OSU is still feasible, as long as they offer the National Buckeye and Trustees… but it sure would be nice to get the Morrill! Haha, GL man!

@mrice1519 the acceptance is on your OSU portal. Under check my acceptance.

Where exactly on the portal can you view this? Under financial aid?

@college67‌ I meant the Morrill notification. I was already accepted, but the Morrill isn’t in the portal. It’s via e-mail, correct?

Morrill comes by email.

I chose to set my OSU student account, that way there aren’t any problems with forwarding messages to my personal email.
