Do they have central air conditioning

None of the Yale dorms have air conditioning in the rooms except Swing Space and that is only for Trumbull upperclassmen this year (freshmen will still be on Old Campus).

so whats the weather like up there will it be really hot/warm

It usually isn't too bad. It's a little warm at the beginning and end of the year, but I don't think you'll be sweating profusely.

actually, berkeley college dorm rooms have air conditioning.. check out the link for details on each residential college

i thought that all of the renovated colleges would have air conditioning.

and since morse, stiles, and calhoun arent getting renovated, wont they get air conditioning too?

I don't think that Berkeley thing is true. The renovated colleges have air conditioned common areas, but I don't think any of the dorm rooms have air conditioning besides the ones in Swing Space. It is way too time-consuming and expensive to add air conditioning when renovating. Plus, you only need air conditioning for the first 3 weeks and maybe the last one (although those three weeks can be torture). Even if the Berkeley thing is true, no freshman housing is air conditioned. Even in TD and Silliman.

well the article says berkeley has AC, i dont think they would make that up

so is it going to be really warm/hot in the dorms

I lived in Berkeley for two years, and it doesn't have AC. None dorms do (Swing is the exception), renovated or not. All you really need is a fan, and you need that only for the first 2 weeks or so of school. I lived in Vanderbilt before it was renovated, and it was hotter than most dorms, so have plenty of fans if you are a freshman.

i stayed in Berkeley this summer, and it had no A/C.

No A/C in TD renovated 3 years ago - renovation doesn't include AC. Sorry. Except for early Sept and May not really a problem - bring a fan.
