Mosaic

Do you know of any student of color who was not invited to MOSAIC but was eventually admitted?

Does not being invited to MOSAIC highly indicate that you won’t be admitted if you are a student of color?

Thanks!

I read through some links on the program, and not getting Mosaic isn’t an indicator of whether you got in or not. It’s a matter of how soon they read your application, I think.

For what I understand about MOSAIC, they choose the students using the same criteria that the adcoms use to evaluate applicants–GPA, test scores, grades, leadership, ECs, etc. You can most definitely get into Vandy without being invited…though I would be curious to know how many people got invited.

I got it lets go!!!

I faxed in my form today :)

Yay snoopyiscool! Where are you from? I’m asain and white too! I’m gonna fax my form as soon as I figure out flights. I’m from colorado and it’s impossible to get a flight to Nashville by noon, so I’m trying to decide if I want to go early or arrive about an hour late. But hopefully, I’ll be able to meet you.

I live about 40 minutes from Vanderbilt, so I’m driving. And if I were you, get there early. Hopefully I’ll meet you too!

no invitation, but im not really surprised because vandy was a reach to begin with.

i’m considered minority (filipino) and if i dont get in through mosaic, do i have any chance at all? im assuming that most of the minorities get in through mosaic. bleh oh well. im from hawaii but im pretty sure something would have gotten here by now.

mtreyesx, Thom actually wrote about your exact question on the Vandy admissions blog last year- [The Vandy Admissions Blog MOSAIC – VU’s Multicultural Student Recruitment Program](MOSAIC – VU’s Multicultural Student Recruitment Program | The Vandy Admissions Blog | Vanderbilt University) . Hope this helps! good luckk!

AHHHH! So excited to meet all of you.

How do you tell the status of your application? Is there a way to check the status of your application?

I faxed the travel response form and the release of liability… is there anything else i ned to fax??

That’s all I faxed too. I think that’s it. =)

stop complaining eric…and thanks collegehappy… hey do you know if they tell us they received the forms??

They send a confirmation email.

Immediately? Or when they get back in office… which is monday or tuesday

I never got a confirmation email =(…How long after did you get one, snoopyiscool?

i emailed some vanderbilt lady about it today and i got an email back saying they are out of office until tuesday…

D faxed in her info on Friday 2/19 and got an email confirmation on Tuesday 2/23. Congratulations to everyone accepted! D is very excited about making the trip to Nashville. We had a very short visit last spring break in the middle of a road trip. She is anxious to go back and take a better look around, now that it has sunk in that she is really admitted.

I faxed my things in on the 20th and got a confirmation email the 23rd.
