Most Beautiful College

Here's something to look at to "illustrate" what I'm talking about (Post #16)- for your viewing pleasure. (I asl posted this elsewhere).

PS- this view is loking East from back of the campus, West view is of some rolling hills and the Adirondacks. I imagine this may make some of you in High School decide to go to Community College before moving on to Harvard (just kidding)

That view is fine, but not quite so great for 8 months of the year when there is 12 feet of snow obscuring the camera.

I love Amherst dearly, but I don't think the campus is pretty.

posterX- much beauty is fleeting

Well, here's a list I compiled awhile back (and have continued to update based on the responses of posters) which is a list of the top 20 most beautiful colleges according to College Confidential posters. The amount of times the school has been mentioned as being the most beautiful by a poster (yes, there will be a bit of overlap so this isn't completely scientific, but it's close) is in parentheses following the name of the college.

Sewanee is much prettier than Princeton or Stanford, in my opinion. I was there today, and it is simply breath-taking.

I agree that there are beautiful LOCATIONS and beautiful campuses. Pepperdine isn't that great except for the location.

Colgate is a beautiful campus and wears the snow well.

It depends on what "beautiful" you're going for. Cambridge has a medieval feel to it; Chicago feels gothic; UCSC feels very natural; Pepperdine feels resort-ish...

Sewanee and Rhodes, hands down.

I like Washington and Lee - I'm a real sucker for the brick/collonade type buildings.

Who in this thread has seen Cornell University campus?...i bet not many!

I agree that Cambridge has a much prettier campus than Princeton but one thing that HYPS have over Oxbridge is much better facilities in terms of libraries, labs, classrooms, computer rooms.

Thats what I believe based on personal observations. The top labs are at schools like Berkley, Uchicago, HYPS.

Most people who come to Bennington site one of their reasons as the beauty of the campus. This is a very subjective topic though.

Pepperdine; hands down.

West Point is truly spectacular, especially in the fall. Sports Illustrated picked Michie Stadium as the best place in the country to watch a college football game.

Of all the Academies it is the most awe inspiring.

KP with its vew of Manhattan is #2 in my book ;)
