Which school campus is the most awe inspiring and beautiful out of the top schools? I live in Texas, and although Rice is a wonderful school, it kinda looks crappy. I heard Washington U. was gorgeous though.

west coast college campuses cant compare to east coast :-/ almost every east coast college campus i have seen is nicer than pepperdine, i think stanford is gorgeous but still cant compete with many east coast schools

i know wake forest is nice, but I am talking about the TOP TOP TOP schools. Like Dartmouth, Harvard, Yale, Emory, Rice, etc. Like, the top 20 or so. I just was wondering

Harvard does not even compare to Yale in terms of the campus beauty. Yale is the most beautiful campus. I have heard good things about Dartmouth's campus as well.
I too am from Texas and personally do not really like the Rice Campus. I think Wash U is nicer, but Duke might be nicer than either of them.

Not speaking in terms of architecture, but in terms of campus beauty, you can't beat University of San Francisco's view of golden gate park, all the way out to the ocean, and in the other direction of city hall with the bay in the background. So what if I'm a little sentimental about my city.
Other beautiful campuses I've visited: Lewis and Clark (beautiful, parklike campus, one of the best views I've ever seen in my life of Portland and Mt. Hood) I've been to stanford a lot, its not that great, its only pretty because they have so much damn money, so if you're looking for something to look wealthy, thats great. Northwestern's campus is beautiful (save for a few fugly buildings, you can't beat the location on the Lake and the view all the way down to the skyscrapers downtown.) Reed college had a nice, parklike campus, very wild and natural, which is brilliant. University of San Diego has a beautiful campus.. but UCSD? hell no, the ugly imperial starship library ruins the whole thing. UCSC has a prettier campus with nicer buildings. Sonoma state has a beautiful campus too.
Of course I know all the east coast schools have prettier buildings, but thats because they're old and rich. There's something to be said about colleges that do more with less.

Devil, who cares about top 20 ranking, richmond is #1 in master south and santa clara is #2 masters west in US News. I know that richmond would be inbetween 20 and 30 if it had a PhD program, so forget about everything you have read, we are strictly talking what campus would you love to live on over four years.

santa clara is a beautiful campus, but its in the southbay no less, and southbay means san jose, which means, eck. Saint Mary's College of California is much more beautiful. Beautiful setting, beautiful buildings.
But if you're going to stick to this notion of there being "top colleges" I'd recommend Allegheny. I had never heard of it, but a friend of mine is going there next year, so I just took the virtual tour. Most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Personally, Stanford University's campus is the nicest college campus I have seen. Santa Clara University's campus comes in at a close second place.
