<p>I made a list for most of the Errors that are likely to be tested on the Writing Section. </p>

<p>1)Noun Agreement Error:
Flawed: Daniel and Mark are my friend.
Corrected: Daniel and Mark are my friends</p>

<p>2)Subject-Verb Agreement:
Flawed :Math is my favorite subject, so I study them every night.
Corrected: Math is my favorite subject, so I study it every night.</p>

<p>3)Diction Error:
Flawed: This movie is affective.
Corrected: This movie is effective.</p>

<p>4) Adjectives and Adverbs:
1) Flawed: Her dress is beautifully. Corrected: Her dress is beautiful.
2) Flawed: He runs rapid, Corrected: He runs rapidly.</p>

<p>5) Missing Pronoun Antecedent:
Flawed: Daniel runs so fast, which makes him healthy.
Corrected: Running so fast makes Daniel healthy.</p>

<p>6) Wrong Pronoun:
Flawed: Most students which are in high school, study for the SAT.
Corrected: Most students who are in hiich school study for the SAT.</p>

<p>7) Misplaced Modifier:
Flawed: The two students wrote an essay about terrorism.
Corrected: The two students wrote essays about terrorism.</p>

<p>8) Double Negative:
Flawed: There is hardly no one at the mall.
Corrected: There is hardly anyone at the mall.</p>

<p>9) Dangling Modifier:
Flawed: Considered a civil rights emblem, Martin Luther King's Efforts are lauded by the whole world.
Corrected: Considered a civil rights emblem, Martin Luther king is lauded for his efforts in desegregating the nation.</p>

<p>10) Illogical Comparison:
To kill a mockingbird is more interesting than Emily Bronte.
Corrected: To kill a mockingbird is more interesting than Emily Brone's Wuthering Heights.</p>

<p>11)Verb Tenses:
He works out then went out with his friends.
Corrected: He works out and goes out with his friends everyday.</p>

<p>12) Sentence Fragment:
Flawed: Tell Daniel who is my friend.
Corrected: Tell daniel, who is my friend that I'll go to the movies tonight.</p>

<p>*13) Comma Splice: *
I will go to the dentist, my teeth hurt.
Corrected: I will go to the dentist, because my teeth hurt.</p>

<p>14)Run On Sentences:
Flawed: I failed my test I didn't study.
Corrected: I failed my test, because I didn't study.
Alt. Correction: I failed my test; although, I had studied.</p>

<p>15)Illogical Conjunctions:
I read an amazing book, but I liked it.
I read an amazing book, and I liked it.</p>

<p>16)Idiom Error:
Flawed: I attempted working all night.
Corrected: I attempted to work all night</p>

<p>17) Unclear Pronoun Reference
Flawed: My mother met her friend while we were crossing the street, and she was happy to see her.
Corrected: My mother met her friend while we were crossing the street, and my mother was happy to see her.</p>

<p>18) Change of Pronoun Subject:
Flawed:One needs a calculator on the SAT, so don't forget yours.
Corrected: You need a calculator on the SAT, so don't forget yours.</p>

<p>19) Comparative and Superlative:
Flawed: Of all the animals, the lion is the stronger.
Corrected: Of all animals, the lion is the strongest.</p>

<p>20) Wordiness:
Flawed: I arrived 11 am in the morning.
Corrected: I arrived 11 in the morning. </p>

This is not an idiom error because it has nothing to do with idioms. An example of an idiom is “to kick the bucket,” which is a different way of saying “to die.” An idiom is a figurative expression.</p>

<p>You can’t characterize these types of errors, because there are no real patterns or rules for them. You just need to be familiar with the English language thoroughly in order to catch these types of errors. So there’s really no point listing this, especially since the sentence is listed as having an idiom error when it does not.</p>

<p>The SAT rarely tests you on (real) idioms.</p>
