Most CS jobs are where?

Where are most CS jobs in CA? Only major cities?

bump → good question

You might check the BLS OOH.

San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA
24,260 applications sofware engineers
22,780 systems software engineers
1,740 database administrators
4,580 network/system administrators

Los Angeles-Long Beach-Glendale, CA Metropolitan Division
13,280 applications software engineers
11,880 systems software engineers
8,170 programmers
3,740 database administrators
9,150 network/system administrators

No other metropolitan area in California made the lists. No non-metropolitan area in California made the lists.

Huh… anyone else have a different opinion?

Not sure if this is a matter of opinion. It would make sense that most are in major cities though.

^ Yeah, not really an opinion… more like a published fact based on research by a department of the government whose business it is to know the answer to the question. However, I would find fairly entertaining any opposed views based on stuff from Dice, Slashdot, Nostradamus, the Mayan calendar, etc.

Silicon Valley (San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Redwood City, Menlo Park, Cupertino, etc). They are all within a 20 mile radius.

There are also a few jobs in the Sacramento area. However, all the best and highest paying jobs are in the LA / Silicon Valley areas.

San Francisco is probably the best place that I can think of for CS jobs. Many of the major computer companies are there. Trust me, I used to live there.

CA, NY, and TX
