omg.... someone mentioned theater technical crew.... thats me. We've had a few close ones over the years. Last year, I was putting up a 50-70 ft long flat that was 25 feet tall and we basically almost dropped it onto some people... scary... as we were drilling it in.

The other time one of my fellow lighting crew members was taking apart and repairing a live high-voltage wire.... then there was the time we almost set the auditorium on fire. And the time we almost fried the electrical board with someone working it... So many close calls, oh and the time we were throwing wood out the loading dock and hit someone on the head...

Ya, they give us all the 'suicide talk' sophomore year.

In my old high school in Korea, a guy committed suicide after his girlfriend dumped him. I guess there was additional stress from other stuff, but I think the girlfriend thing hit him the hardest.

In my new school here in California (I hate this school so much) a kid tried to hang himself from a fence. Luckily, someone walking by saw a kid hanging from a fence, unconscious. So he called an ambulance and the guy lived.

Lol, I can't believe this is my first post. Hey people

There was a kid with an undiagnosed heart defect who collapsed and died during wrestling practice. Real shock cause he was one of the most athletic guys I knew.

I don't really hear this type of news until wayy later but my friend accidentally fell out of his window when he was like.. 6/7. He was jumping on his bed and then another friend pushed him (playfully). Thank god his head landed on the grass.

we've had a couple accidental deaths and one fight between girls that ended with some scratches and bruises.

in my four years on tech crew we've never had a serious injury. if injuries keep happening dont blame it on the work, blame yourselves for being stupid.

in the past two years at least 2 people have died from drug overdoses, one was this past month, a girl ODed on heroin.
Some kids have been hit by cars [no serious injuries] between classes.
in 8th grade some kids brought guns to school, but nothing happened.
a few months ago a girl dropped acid during class and end up punching a VP and a cop.
a kid got lit on fire during a chem class last year.
two years ago some kid got his skull broken by a punch from another kid; he was med-evaced out, it had something to do with a drug deal, the kid sucked a lot anyway.
theres always more drama at my school...

In 5th grade a girl started coughing in class... eventually she couldn't breathe. They called an ambulance and she died en route.

Last year we had a 300 pound guy who had seizures. He had one at the end of the year in the middle of the hallway right before we were to change classes. Class changing was suspended until the end of the day and the ambulance came and got him. He wasn't back this year and someone said he's still in a coma.

Oh yeah, at my old school, someone brought a fake gun to school. And as a joke, he pulled it out and pointed it at his friend. His friend thought it was real and he had a heart attack and died.

We had a kid die from cancer when I was in seventh grade. It was really sad, espescially because he had a twin sister.

Um, I'd agree with the above poster on tech injuries. NEVER work on live wires, people! Be careful around dimmers! Don't walk under the genie. If you don't know what you're doing, ask. (Ugh, I could go on for a long time.) Good communication is essential to avoiding injury. As is supervision.

The worst we've had was the crushed foot by the choral risers, and that was more gravity's fault than any of ours. We've also had people cut on nails, and I was hit by a table during a scene change (left a scar that's still there 2 years later), but nothing extreme.

I remember a soccer game it was 5-2 and only 5 mins left so we were like screw it were gonna hurt some people.

So for the rest of the game we just kept kicking people in the chest and various body parts until it got out of hand and someone got kicked in the head and had to go to the hospital. I've gotta admit... it was the most exciting game ever.

Ok I actually forgot all about this stuff..but now it's all coming back to memory..so yea, every year, usually 1-3 people from my school die from car accidents. Otherwise, there's been people who have had serious injuries from soccer, running, football, etc. that resulted in a helicopter landing. Also, some guy had a seizure during P.E. Oh yea, there's fights too but no one gets seriously hurt, just minor injuries.

In middle school twin brothers were two of the best athletes in school but all of a sudden started having seizures, found out it was from sulfur or something. Freshman year a kid was riding his dirtbike in the woods and someone tide wire between two trees and snapped his neck and killed him. Also, someone was drunk and got hit by a train. Last year a kid mixed two types of pills and died. Thats all i can think of.
