Everyone keeps saying how calc 2 math/phys is really difficult. I was wondering what was topics are really difficult to understand. I might be self teaching myself this summer. So far, I believe my AP Calculus AB class has covered the first 3 topics (Areas between curves, Volumes, Average value, and Cylindrical shells).

There is nothing hard about calc 2; in fact, it’s a very easy course if you study for it. People say it’s hard because (1) they haven’t taken calculus in high school, and/or (2) it seems hard because students are presented with more material to study for, and thus many can’t manage their schedule properly.

It tricks many people because they will learn all the easy material in the beginning thereby giving them delusion that they won’t have to try as hard as they go on. As a result, they slack off and then eventually find themselves struggling to keep up with the course. Just remember that if you fall behind, you keep falling behind further and further. Think of it as running a marathon.

Make sure you do all your homework, pay attention in class, then you should be fine.
