I will be arriving at the San Jose Airport for Admit Weekend and I am just wondering, what's the most economical way to get from the airport to the university? I have looked at http://www.sjc.org/travelers/ground_trans.html and the taxi fares are a bit high for my budget. I browsed through the information on public transportation but found it confusing. If you are flying in at SJC, how are you getting to the university (and back to the airport while we're at it)? Thanks!

Check out this thread.

I've never flown into SJC, but I believe there's a free shuttle from there to a Caltrain station. Caltrain then takes you to the top of Palm Drive, where you can walk or Marguerite to wherever you're going.

You're right; as I posted in the thread that MSMDAD referenced, there is a free Flyer (VTA line 10) that goes from SJC to Santa Clara Caltrain Station.

Thanks for all the responses! They've been extremely helpful. Now I just hope I won't run into any trouble that weekend :).

--Note: you can also get off at California Avenue instead of Palo Alto. However, only one Marguerite line goes to California Avenue, while about 4 lines go to Palo Alto.
