Most Effective SAT Math Book

I am in desperate need of an huge score increase for SAT Math. Which book/books are most effective at increasing scores

dr.chungs SAT math is by far the best, so is blue book

I like the 32 most effective SAT math strategies, and of course the blue book…

I recently got a review copy of PWN the SAT’s math book, and I like it. His practice questions are pretty accurate, and the concept review isn’t hard to grasp. Dr. Chung’s is good, but can be over the head of some students. It just depends on where you’re starting. And the blue book is a must have for anyone preparing for the SAT, so that’s a given.

^The Pwn the SAT website is great. I want to get the book but I don’t have the money. The site has helped me studying though.

Yeah, I second the PWN the SAT book - funniest book ever with actual substance. Organized and explained far better than any other book I’ve seen.

It also breaks down the Blue Book into categories so you can focus on your weakness. For example, if you suck at functions, there’s an index that lists all the function problems in the BB.

Most explanations are useless for kids who got the question wrong because the explanation explains using the “mathy” way. Well, if the kid knew the mathy way, then he wouldn’t have gotten it wrong in the first place (usually). PWN the SAT shows you a “nimble” way too so you don’t have to necessarily know the math to get a problem right. In fact, even if you know the mathy way, it’s often not the most effective way. The SAT Math requires you to be nimble and be able to adapt to problems you haven’t seen before. You can’t rely solely on a step-by-step process for every type of math problem. You have to learn to think of creative ways to solve them, which is what PWN the SAT helps train you to do.
