Pretty much any prep book can help you here. I've used Maximum SAT and I'm using Barron's 2400 right now. Just brush up on grammar rules and you should see improvement, but a book more specific in writing may be even more helpful (but I don't think it's necessary).

Well in that case I would just go with Barron's Writing Workbook for the New SAT. I haven't used it, but the general consensus on Barron's seems to be that they overprepare you, and I guess if you really want a high score then that's the way to go.

The Brian -
The best book we at ceeae.org have encountered for the Writing Section (Multiple Choice Questions) is Barron's 2400. The second best book is Kaplan's SAT 2400.

You can read all of the reviews on the aforementioned site. We have not reviewed Rocket Review and Maximum SAT, sorry we cant help you there.

If you get the Barron's 2400 please copy and memorize page 126 for the hierarchy of grammar errors on the Id Sentence Error questions.

If you ask nicely and PM me, I would be happy to reiterate this page for you, but the book has many more info and strategies that make it worthwhile for you to purchase it. If you are short on money, go to a bookstore and take notes in the store, Barnes&Noble and Borders have no problem with this strategy.

I don't know about Barron's 2400... I bought it awhile ago, but its writing section can be kind of misleading, because they talk about errors that aren't actually on the real test, like using pronouns without clearly saying what they refer to. College Board doens't have a problem with this, but Barron's says it's incorrect.
