Most efficient and effective methods for improving Science?

I took the October ACT without any prep (besides the PLAN) for a baseline and got a 32 composite, CR 35, W 34, M 30, SR 28. Through a little practice I have been able to get math up to a 32 in practice tests, but science is stubbornly staying in the 28-29 range. I was wondering if anyone who has previously been in my situation could let me know both what they found that worked and didn't work for improving Science. All I need is a few extra points to get a 33 or 34 composite (assuming that I can replicate my W and CR scores). Any tips would be appreciated, although that "not thinking" technique doesn't seem to be working.

Thanks

I can’t help you, but I’ll be watching this thread because I have the same issue only worse. I’ve got 34, 32, 33 in English, Math & Reading, and a 26 in Science. It’s the only section I have trouble finishing, and of course it comes LAST when my brain is tired. I’ve heard practice and lots of practice tests, but so far that hasn’t helped me.

Try not to read the information given unless it’s mandatory to solving the problems. Instantly skip anything that appears unsolvable in a short time (reading the problem will allow your brain to break it down subconciously so hopefully at the end, it will be easier). If there is a significant set of questions that you cannot do in a row, don’t panic and instead take the time to understand the passage even if this takes a bit of time. It takes longer in trying to figure out what you’re missing to solve a problem than it does to just look through the information given.
