Most efficient method for the writing section?

My writing score is in the high 600s and rarely in the low 700s. I plan to achieve high 700s by October. But I am a rising senior and I was wondering what the most efficient method for me to study for the writing section would be. I have a LOT of books but I haven't gone through the writing sections of Barron's SAT 2400 and Barron's writing workbook (2nd ed that came out a few days ago). I've gone through almost all tests in PR 11 practice and Kaplan's 12 practice but I think they are both way easier than the real test. And I didn't improve a lot.

I was originally planning to use the Barron's writing workbook because Barron's books are usually hard. But I only got two questions wrong in the diag test, although I usually get 5-7 wrong and there aren't many real SAT type questions but grammer exercises. So I am not sure whether I should use it.

Is there any really good way to study to boost up my writing score?

Thank you in advance :)

First of all, only use official CB tests. Go through a BB writing section untimed and trace each correct answer back to a grammar rule from one of your sources. Do that until you get a firm grasp of all the rules and how CB likes to test them. Then start taking timed sections and see how you do.

Ok thanks :)

So would you say going through the Barron’s workbook would be efficient or shall I just go through the BB as you told me?

Just use the BB. Using it, I managed to go from a 650 to 3x 800’s in a row. Writing gets extremely predictable if you use the BB.

Yeah, use the BB.

Barrons has good pre-info about writing rules but their questions are not very good. Use BB for questions.

BB for questions; other books for rules.
