Most expensive?

My friend's parents (both alumni of GW) said that the tuition is the most expensive in the country. Is that true? It's been driving me crazy...that can't be right...

Yes it is true. Look online.

Yes it is, it has been in the news a lot lately. If you are living on campus, the total cost will be around $50,000 a year!!!! Tuition alone is like $39,000

I read that since there is fixed tuition, GWU doesn't end up being the most expensive cumulatively - around the 9th instead after four years.

Yep, GW does have fixed tuition, so you may get the initial sticker price shock. The program definitely has it benefits.

I think if your thing is politics, law and government, the level of internships is worth the cost. Plus if you're a smart cookie, you'll probably get some merit aid to offset the tuition. At least that is what we're hoping. ;D

My son is a political junkie (watches CNN and C-Span for fun), and spending the day at GWU was like going to Disneyland for him. He really liked it, and I hope it works out for him. We could never afford the full tuition.

wow. so the rumors are true. kind of...haha

Others will probably go higher - they just haven't announced their price increases yet. George Washington was just the first one to do it.

i think it's closer to $60,000. even with a fixed plan, without aid, i don't think it's a deal. can someone's non-fixed school costs go up by the $20,000 or so difference /year over 4 years??

happycolleemom, where did you get the $60K figure? According to the website, tuition+room+board is $50K and change.

As for tuition, I must say our S paid just a little over what he would have paid to our state school, so we thought they were pretty generous with grant money.
