Most frequent and Urgent science/premed questions

My friends have been recommending penn for premed. Before I delve deeper, I need an answer to a few basic questions:

1) How tough are the science classes (grading wise, curves) for the intro and mid level?
2) What is penn's placement of premeds into the top 10 med programs?
3) How much research opportunities are available? Easily obtainable as a frosh?
4) It is possible to survive premed (i.e. get like a 3.6 BCPM or above) and have a life/party/etc.?
5) Is it beneficial to place out of intro science classes w/ AP?

Thx

1) can be pretty tough when curved to a b-/c+
2) pretty awesome
3) tons and yes
4) yes
5) depends on rigor of ap program, and desire to jump into higher-level content immediately

So what does a B-/C+ curve mean? Is everything curved to 80%? Also, does the curve increase as your get higher up in the sciences?

that means most kids get something b-c, with a bunch getting a’s and a handful failing

and no higher level courses are usually easier from the grade perspective

Well, I guess I’m using all my AP credits to get higher, if the grading is easier :)

easier grading relative to the curve, but harder content potentially
