Most Important Books in American History?

<p>I'm studying for the US History subject test (which I'm more worried about than the AP exam!) and have noticed that a lot of the practice questions I miss have to do with books or authors I simply haven't heard of. I've been making sure to note the books that are mentioned in my notes or review materials, but a lot of them simply aren't there. And I'm not having much Google success. (I though for sure there'd be a Wikipedia page!) So, does anyone know of a good consolidated list of important American books?</p>
