Most likely, I won't go up, right? This is serious!

<p>My daughter is having so much trouble with the ACT test. In april she got her highest score yet (25), but the past two ACT tests she has taken (in September and October) she has gotten 23's. She took the sylvan ACT course...it didn't help. I think its b/c she gets too nervous.</p>

<p>Anyway, her school is giving a the ACT test dec. 22......(theres a school trip...so they scheduled a supplementary exam) Don't ask questions. </p>

<p>So, she can take the ACT saturday and be nervous and probably get another 23 or she can take it on dec. 22. The only thing is...the test hasn't been confirmed yet. It may be confirmed by tomorrow (friday), or it might take till Monday or tuesday. But if she takes the test on Saturday she be able to take it again on dec. 22...(its a rule). If she takes it on Dec. 22 I don't think she will be as nervous, and may do better. Also we have checked with the colleges and this is okay.</p>

<p>Also she's a senior so she won't be able to take it again....its either Dec8 or Dec22...
So what should I tell her? I don't know what would be the best. Please don't ask me questions, just give me advice!</p>

<p>Sylvan isn’t the best in terms of test prep- it focuses too much on standard tutoring (you know, just to graduate high school.) </p>

<p>Although I can’t say whether her test scores will go up, I can suggest that if she were to take the test again, she should take a prep course with either Kaplan or The Princeton Review (this would have to be after Dec. 22nd; otherwise, buy her the KAPLAN ACT prep book.)</p>

<p>She can’t take it again…she’s a senior…so its either Dec8 or Dec22…the only thing is…the Dec22 isn’t confirmed yet (it should be soon) and she would have more time to study</p>

<p>the best thing to do is to just keep doing tests over and over again. You can raise your SAT score several hundred points with that sort of diligence–I’m positive that the same is true for the ACT.</p>

<p>if it is ok with the colleges take it the 22nd. make sure she takes as many practice tests as possible. thats the best way to increase scores</p>
