Very strange criterion, in fact, I don’t know if it’s possible to answer this question at all, but…
What schools are best suited for students who thrive in the night? I always get excited when I see “open till 4am” cafes on campuses (campi?) or classes that generally start later in the day. My sleep cycle does gymnastics and I tend to be the most productive in the 9pm-1am time range so it would be nice if I could go to a college that takes advantage of that/I am not constantly sleep-deprived (and yes, I have tried medication but that wrecks havoc with my system).
I don’t really care about the parties. Just knowing that at night there are still people to talk to and well-lit cozy public places to study and read.
Almost every college has lots of students studying from 9pm - 1am. I’d look for schools that are very safe, and if they are in a city, have student transportation available late at night. The science, nursing and engineering schools probably have the heaviest workload and hence more late night studying.
Just don’t schedule classes before 10am.
Big colleges like from the big ten conference have the main library open for 24 hours. Some of the liberal arts achollls usually close around 2:00 am.
The main library at my D’s private engineering school closes at 3 am (I think she said it’s open all night during/before finals). The engineering students typically go to bed around 2 am, and 4 am is not uncommon. Arch majors don’t sleep at all 8 am classes can be brutal.
I’d imagine that college campuses in cities would be in proximity to all night cafes/restaurants where one could go study. In addition, the more students there are, the more classes there are to pick from. Therefore if you’re on top of it you could try to get night classes if possible.
