Most non-competitive/easiest program to get into at McGill

Somebody told me it was art but i dont think thats true....Anyone?

probably education

why do you think that?

I think poli sci. Generally getting into arts isn't that hard at all.

this year arts is said to be a lot harder because of the massive number of international students having applied to it...

For a fact-based answer see http://www.mcgill.ca/arr/profile/
which has the number of applicants and the number of actual registered
students for each faculty for fall 2006.

i know management cutoff was about 90-92%
science and arts are just under - 89-90%
engineering..depends on what kind..mechinical u need 94% just to be considered
while electrical u can get in with like a 85%
education...i have met ppl who got in with less than 87%...

What kind of BS numbers are these... 94% to get into mechanical engineering??? 90% to be in management? Look at the page given by mcgilldad: those are the median scores of those accepted, not the cutoffs.

this is what they told us during the welcome speech last year

i am sure u need over 94% for mech. eng. its one of the best in canada

and u definatley need something over 90 or 91% to get into management....i haven't met anyone who has got anything below..

arts and science ppl have between 85%-90%...and since they make up like 90% of mcgill..this is reflected in the median or wateva..which is 89-90%

They must grade generously in Ontario (and the rest of Canada), if 90% is the cutoff for management... On the "students in my faculty are smarter than those in your faculty" scale, management only (barely) beats elementary education ;).

/now don't get me started on engineers...

Well I know thats not true for the 90-91% in management because the cutoff is usually 26-27 R-score which roughly translates to 78-84, depending on the CEGEP. A 90-91% would mean an R-score requirement of 32+

Blobof, what about engineers? Elaborate.

undisclosed...ur talking about quebec...not the rest of canada or the world. u cant compare the % u get in the quebec with the rest of the world becasue the R-score is based on how well u do in relation to your classmates, what school to go to, etc...

anyway i was an international student and i needed a 37 on the IB to be accepted into management...thats roughly over 90% in canada (according to how they convert)

On a slightly related subject, what's the easiest math/science course to pass? Neither subject's been my forte, so to speak, so I'd just like to get the required course out of the way as painlessly as possible.
