My most overdue library book is "Mr. Lazy" by Roger Hargreaves

It was due August 28, 2000. I was nearly 7 years old at the time. I am now 16.

The book has been overdue for the majority of my life.

I moved a few towns north and I do not go to that library anymore.

(random side note) I checked out 1984 by George Orwell this year at the school library but they never asked for it back, nor did I get a fine. I kept it and it is now mine.

Once the library said that my mom owed them a book for several years. She said she returned it, and when they looked, it was there on the book shelf.

Yeah, I have a book about spiders from another state’s library that I had checked out when I moved back in '01. I too am guilty.

Have you heard of the story of the man who returned a 50 year overdue library book and paid all corresponding fines? Guess it really weighed on his conscience. :P

I’ve lost a library book before although they weren’t fussed as long as I got a new one. There was a used book store 2 blocks down that had the same book for really cheap (and not in bad condition either). Thus ends the most boring story ever.

I borrowed a book from my old school when i was in 8th grade (i was 12) and then i changed schools the next term and i never had the chance to return it because i am a senior now (15…almost 16). i visit my friends in the old school once in a while but i keep forgetting to bring the book along…now i’ve moved houses and i have NO IDEA where the book is…it actually hurts me a bit because i never had time to read the book (A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens)
