Google, Apple...Disney...the car companies?

Survey in this article was only given to business students…yet engineering showed up alot…thanks for posting!

Big companies are likely to be overrepresented in such surveys because they are well known; small companies are likely to be known mainly in their local areas.

Of course, the type of companies is influenced by the survey containing about a third business majors.

“Who they want to work for” just reflects perceived sexiness. It’s sexy right now to want to work for Google, Apple, Facebook … doesn’t mean that the working environment is necessarily any more or less rewarding or that the actual work is any more or less interesting. Of course people don’t think they “want to” work for smaller companies doing things they never heard of - doesn’t mean they won’t actually like those jobs or find them great springboards to a career. Seems like a pointless survey, honestly - what’s of more interest to me is their segmentation which I suspect is loosely Myers-Briggs based. (careerist, harmonizer, etc.)
