They are all great schools and will be well recognized in the NE. Which do you like the best? Which is the most affordable? Which has the academics/major/programs you want?
“the one that went to Harvard would get the job”
Off the top of my head I can think of any number of careers where the Harvard name on your diploma would not get you the job.
My favorite on the OP’s list is Wellesley. But frankly, if the OP is asking “Wellesley or one of these others?” then the OP doesn’t have the right attitude for Wellesly and should scratch it right off her list.
And the fact, that potentially the next President could be a Wellesley graduate–for some, that would be prestigious.
would you say wellesley is very well known and regarded highly? i do really like it. atm it’s really between wellesley, tufts, and berkeley. I’m not really considering midd or wes, though i think these two might be considered more prestigious?
IMO, Tufts in the NE, Berkeley everywhere else. But don’t listen to me. Mine is just one person’s opinion in 319 million people.
Visit each campus again. Spend a whole day in class, in the departments where you will likely be taking classes. Just listen to what students are talking about between themselves. What do the professors do after class–do they bolt, or do they hang around? Do the professors keep their office doors open, or closed? This group of five institutions is so good that relative prestige is the last thing I would be thinking about.
