<p>I’m so confused by these replies…How do you guys define prestige?</p>
<p>My definition of prestige is widely known reputation resulting from excellence in academics, achievement, etc. </p>
<p>I understand that U Chicago is ranked much higher than the other schools but practically no one in the US (by that I mean common people) has heard of U Chicago. UCLA, on the other hand, is widely known for either their academic excellence, contribution to the nation/world, sports, etc. Basically I see UCLA as a household name on par with Harvard, Princeton, and Yale. But I can understand that the business and academic world would most likely view U Chicago as more prestigious. Just my thoughts.</p>
