most rigorous junior year courses

Regular English
Honors US History
AP Chemistry
AP Biology
AP Statistics
AP Physics Electrical
AP French Language
AP Microeconomics and Macroeconomics

Multivariable Calculus at nearby university

^^Not fun junior year...thank god for senioritis

yeah, 1.5x... so like an A is 6, B is 4.5.... for honors its 1.125x, so an A is 4.5, B-3.375....

My friend's schedule...

Complex Analysis
AP US History
AP Physics
AP English
AP Comp Sci
AP Spanish
Band

Edit: I suppose I'll post mine as well (though it pales in comparison :()

Differential Equations
AP US History
AP Chemistry
AP English
AP Spanish
Band
Art II

we get .3 tacked on to our grade in the class...
so a 4 ->4.3 This is definitely grade-deflating. So for a 5-course schedule, it only adds .06 and for a 6-course schedule, it only adds .05 per class. It's stupid.

megaman123: You're lucky. I would soooo love to go to your school...we don't have any business or related courses at my school. The closest thing is econ. It's sooo cool that they have business & management.

Hey, my school doesn't weight grades at all. I'd be very happy with an extra .3 to each class

learning social skills are much more important than taking AP classes, though I admit I'm taking 4 and a half AP classes, but I think learning about life is much more important. high school is a crucial time in the development toward adulthood. you should learn much more other things than the academic.
even if you get into an Ivy, you will not have a good life if you don't know how to enjoy it or what to appreciate.
we should learn to "appreciate the little joys of life in this ever so materialistic world"(my friend, Ellen's quote).

Yes, but unfortunately, social skills aren't the things getting us more economically competitive with those select other countries, unless it's getting us to suck up to them hoping that they will share a few trillion dollars.

Social skills are something most people have developed since elementary school. If you need to "learn" it in high school, then you either live a very sheltered life or you have problems.

Sorry for digressing from the topic.
well, I'm not saying exactly social skills, but more like making more friends and stuff. I'm a Junior and I have many friends in good universities, like Berkeley. in fact, my girlfriend is also in college. they really gave me good advices about life. Grades and AP classes only brings you so far, you really need to learn to love life and stuff to have a good future...
See the problem is, we are all competing academically for grade and economically for money, but what we should do is to learn to appreciate the joys of life, help other people, think about our country, which is getting taken over by a dictator...

The AP classes I'm taking, arranged by hardness:
AP US History
AP Chem
AP Calculus AB
AP Art History (Interesting class)
AP Human Geography (Easiest AP Class ever)
I think my school offer all of the AP classes except world history AP and programming AP. People in my school agree that the hardest AP classes at my school is
Calculus BC
AP Physics
AP Comp. Lit. (a English elective only offered to Seniors)

and no, Graceful_Spirit, I do have it life, my girlfriend is in college...

Classes for next year (yay junior year...)

AP Chem
AP World History
AP Calc (AB)
AP Comparative Govt
AP Art
French IV Honors (I'll be able to take AP French senior year)
English 11 GT (AP English is only offered to seniors)

"think about our country, which is getting taken over by a dictator..."

Don't even get me started...

To each his/her own.

AP Physics is quite difficult. I know a guy who has 790 for the bio sat II, 760 chem sat II, and a C average in AP Physics currently. Don't be stupid - take the courses you are interested in and know you can handle.

DEATH TO PHYSICS!!!! I hate physics and/or science more than anything in the world. I stupidly chose physics over AP bio or AP enviro, but at least I won't have to take a science as a senior. I'm in regular and I'm sitting on the threshold of a C+ and a B- in that class. I say physics is the most useless of all sciences. Actually, I say science is the most useless subject.

So don't ever take physics if you can avoid it. And don't get a D then tell me I didn't warn you. Here's one guarentee though, if you hated chemistry, you'll hate physics.

Quick question for those of you taking Calc BC junior year: what do you take senior year? (This isn't an option at our school, unfortunately, but I'm just curious ;))

My schedule for next year, as I'm a sophomore now:
AP Bio
AP Chem
AP Calc AB
AP/GT English III
AP US History
French III Honors (no AP offered)
Physics Honors (AP only offered to seniors, no exceptions)
Microbiology
Communications Applications (Required for graduation. From what I hear you watch movies all semester, so it shall be a study hall :))

For next year I signed up for

AP English Language
Math Analysis (Pre-Calc)
AP US History
AP Physics B (school doesn't offer C, but I'm not sure if I want to take physics at all yet, but we'll see)
German 3

So for that's all I'm guarenteed to take. Hopefully I can take AP Psychology too if the rest of my music academy courses don't take up too many blocks.

The juniors in Calc BC at my school often take AP Stats afterwards. The (few) sophomores in Calc BC, or any juniors who have already taken Stats, can take multivariable calc, linear algebra, or elementary differential equations (elem. diffeqs comes after multivariable, though) at the local community college.

ihateCA, science is the least useless subject BY FAR. That was a goofy thing to say because science is one of the few important classes to study that can make the future brighter.

I suppose that without doctors and engineers who study science English majors would have figured out how to build computers, make airplanes, and cure disease.

"Useless" is a subjective word.
