My GPA is not competitive - a 2.73 at the moment, 2.83 at Fall semester's end.

I am the VP / COO of a business club and Pres. of a philosophy club that a friend and I established.

I am applying as Bus Admin w/ emphasis in Accountancy. I would like to minor in Finance or Philosophy.

I'm looking to land an internship within the accounting industry within the next 2 months.

From my understanding, my chances are much more significant if I applied to a CSU as opposed to UC.

If I wanted to have a decent chance, I would have to apply for Fall 13'. With unfortunate news of budget cuts being more rampant than most of us would like to hear, as well as a long 4 years at a CC, I would like to be in a 4-year asap.

I would rather go to a UC than a CSU, for the purpose that UC's generally have more recruitment opportunities and a relatively more well-established alumni network. (correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't done much research on this, only a tad bit + hearsay do I come to this conclusion.)

My low GPA + my desire of 4-year education + my desire for a UC = apply for a major that is easy to be admitted to then change it? What are your thoughts on this? Why or why not should I pursue this method?

With my current situation, should I play it honest and apply to all UC's and CSU's and hope for the best?

Thanks for your time.
